San Diegans enjoy beautiful weather year round with an average daily temperature of 70.5 degrees Fahrenheit (21.4 degrees Celsius).  Our climate is considered sub-tropical with warm dry summers and milder winters.

A marked feature of the climate is the wide variation in temperature within short distances due to the topography of the land. You can enjoy coastal, mountain and desert environments all in the space of one day!! Where else can you snow ski, mountain bike, surf, water ski, and hike all in one day? We think that’s pretty unique and yet another spectacular feature of San Diego.
Along with many adventures, fun things to do, culture, museums, amusement parks, wonderful schools and universities….it’s no wonder why people choose to live here year after year! Any time of year, you can always find people walking the 101 and enjoying the ocean breeze from San Diego’s coastline.

San Diego is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest city in California. The city is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, immediately adjacent to the Mexican border. The birthplace of California, San Diego is known for its mild year-round climate, its natural deep-water harbor, and its long association with the U.S. Navy.

The city is the county seat of San Diego County and is the economic center of the San Diego–Carlsbad–San Marcos metropolitan area as well as the San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area. San Diego’s main economic engines are military and defense-related activities, tourism, international trade, and manufacturing. The presence of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), with the affiliated UCSD Medical Center, has helped make the area a center of research in biotechnology
